How we use your personal data
Ambro Finance Limited collects information about you when you engage us for mortgage and insurance advice. This information will pertain to your personal and financial circumstances. It may also include information of a personal nature such as data about your health, if needed for the provision of our services.
Information relating to usage of our website is collected using cookies. These are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. We’ll use your information collected from the website to personalise your repeat visits to the site.
Why do we need and use your personal data
Primarily we require your data to perform our contract with you. The data we collect about you is essential for us to carry out the services that you have instructed us to perform. Without this personal data we would be unable to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations.
Do we share your information
We will keep your data confidential at all times and will only share that information in certain circumstances. In order to deliver our services to you we may send your details to third parties such as those that we engage for professional compliance, accountancy or legal services as well as product and platform providers that we use to arrange financial products for you. We will endeavour to inform all relevant third parties including but not limited to solicitors and estate agents of key milestone events, such as valuation dates or the issuing of your mortgage offer.
We won’t share your information for marketing purposes with companies outside of Ambro Finance Limited.
If you are based outside of the EEA please be aware we apply UK standards to data protection. We will only process your data for the purposes you have consented to and to effectively perform the instructed tasks. We are though under a legal obligation to process your data compliantly under common law.
To fulfil our obligations in respect of prevention of money-laundering and other financial crime we may send your details to third party agencies for identity verification purposes.
We will keep your information confidential at all times however in certain circumstances we may share your information with third party providers of product data (for product sourcing purposes). If you are applying for a loan, we will pass on your details to the lender. We may also pass on your information to a third-party processor (a packager) who will gather information on behalf of the lender. Information provided by you may be put onto a register and shared with other lenders to prevent fraudulent applications.
If you apply to us for insurance we will pass your details to the insurer. We may do this directly or through a third-party processor (a portal or another insurance intermediary) who will gather the information on behalf of the insurer.
We may also share your information with solicitors as a part of the mortgage process. Information provided by you may be put onto a register of claims and shared with other insurers to prevent fraudulent claim. Where we do not offer a particular service that you require and where you consent we may pass on information to third party intermediaries, solicitors or other providers to effect an introduction to them in order for them to offer additional services to you.
We will share your personal information with our regulator (The Financial Conduct Authority) and third-party providers of compliance services as a part of our regulatory obligations.
If you agree, we may email you about other products or services that we think may be of interest to you.
How long do we hold your data
We are subject to regulatory requirements to retain your data for a minimum of three years from the date the advice was given and up to seven years in order for us to comply with regulatory requirements.
We also reserve the right to retain data for longer than this due to the possibility that it may be required to defend a future claim against us.
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We’ll comply with this request, subject to the restrictions of our regulatory obligations and legitimate interests as noted above.
